These relationships are unhealthy for someone in the recovery process. Refusing to cut out the negative outside influences will lead to certain downfall of the addict.

The intervention counseling process itself only takes about two to three weeks to put into action. After that, the addict is sent to treatment in a facility that specializes in their addiction. It is then that the recovery process truly begins. Through education and new relationships, these facilities pick up where the intervention counseling left off.
